Learn Free Motion Quilting techniques on your domestic sewing machine! We will discuss machine set up and preparation for Free Motion Quilting and helpful tools for the task. A small practice quilt sandwich will be provided to help you get the feel of working on the 3 layers of a quilt or small project. Basic Free Motion designs will be covered in this morning session on Sat, Apr 7th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Students will have the optional opportunity for additional practice in the afternoon from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with the instructor available for questions. Class Fee is $30 which includes one small practice quilt sandwich for class. You may opt to bring additional fabric & batting to create your own small wholecloth practice piece for the optional afternoon practice session. (Students will be on their own for lunch. You may bring a sack lunch or choose from fast food options in the area.)

You will need to bring your domestic sewing machine in good working condition. You must have a Free Motion Darning or Hopping Foot that fits your machine. You will need high quality thread. Ideally, you should be able to drop the feed dogs on your machine. If not, call 402-880-2293 to discuss possible options.

Basic Free Motion Quilting Skills are required for the upcoming Silk Fusion Landscape Workshop on Apr 28. If you are not comfortable with Free Motion Quilting, this course becomes a Pre-Requisite for you to prepare for that course.
